White spirits

(Boiling range 135–280 °C)

White spirits are mixtures of paraffinic and naphthenic hydrocarbons. Standard qualities contain up to 20% mass fraction of aromatic compounds. By using suitable raw materials and hydrogenation processes, we are able to produce these products with only a mild odour. The high naphthenic content is what gives DHC white spirits their increased solvating power.

Primary applications/processes:

  • Solvents for various natural and synthetic resins, including alkyd resins and epoxy resin esters
  • Solvents for printing inks in the textiles and paper industries
  • Solvents and thinners for numerous paints, varnishes and lacquers
  • Components in emulsifiable cleaning agents
  • Metal degreasing agents
  • Solvents for the production of wax polishes for furniture, flooring and shoes
