White spirits
(Boiling range 135–280 °C)
White spirits are mixtures of paraffinic and naphthenic hydrocarbons. Standard qualities contain up to 20% mass fraction of aromatic compounds. By using suitable raw materials and hydrogenation processes, we are able to produce these products with only a mild odour. The high naphthenic content is what gives DHC white spirits their increased solvating power.
Primary applications/processes:
- Solvents for various natural and synthetic resins, including alkyd resins and epoxy resin esters
- Solvents for printing inks in the textiles and paper industries
- Solvents and thinners for numerous paints, varnishes and lacquers
- Components in emulsifiable cleaning agents
- Metal degreasing agents
- Solvents for the production of wax polishes for furniture, flooring and shoes
